FAA Grounds 171 Boeing Planes After Alaska Airlines Incident Prompts Technical Checks
The US has grounded 171 Boeing planes, stating the need for a technology check. Following the detachment of a piece of an Alaska Airlines plane while in flight, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) decided to halt the operation of 171 planes until technical checks are completed. According to the FAA, 171 aircraft of the US, specifically the 'Boeing 737 Max 9,' will be affected by this decision. United Airlines has reported that some of its 79 'Boeing 737 Max 9' planes have undergone technical inspection by the FAA. Sixty flights are likely to be canceled due to technical checks, as the process of inspecting an airplane is said to take four to eight hours.
Last Friday, a part of an Alaska Airlines plane traveling from Portland (Oregon) to Ontario (California) separated from the aircraft due to air pressure. Subsequently, the plane had to make an emergency landing. The plane carried 171 passengers and 6 crew members, all of whom are safe. Following this incident, Alaska Airlines ceased all flights for its 65 Boeing aircraft, stating that it will conduct a technical check and suspend services until granted permission to resume flights."
Its very disappointing .. There should be strict rules in all airports of the world to inspect the planes technically or from different aspects properly and continuously to stop occurring such disaster issues.
